Alton Towers Theme Park

Hi Guys,

I left London for four nights and traveled to the middle of the UK near Staffordshire to visit this theme park. I took an 11 carriage Virgin train up to Stoke on Trent from Euston Station in London and then took a tiny little one carriage diesel choo choo (pictured) down to the market village of Uttoxeter (first couple of pics), where I stayed for the four nights. There is a video on the video tab of the sort of scenery that is around the theme park as it was smack dab in the middle of sheep and cow paddocks. The theme park itself is set out on/in/around the castle and grounds of the Earls of Shrewsberry's old digs and has beautiful gardens, buildings and scenery that date back to the early 1800's. The rides themselves are also spectacular, with videos of the best in the video tab such as Rita, formally known as Rita the queen of speed until someone made a faster ride. Rita still goes from 0 to 96km an hour in 2 secs, with a top speed of 121km/h, so she's no slouch. I had a blast at this theme park for the two days I was there, despite all of the rides being set so far apart from each other.
