Hi,
I went here specifically for the Six Flag theme park. Unfortunately I flew out of NYC with a cold that turned nasty once I hit the humidity and elevation (2.25km above sea level) of Mexico City. Luckily the Pesos is great against the aussie dollar ( 1 Peso is 7 cents AUD). So I was able to see the doctor for 35 Pesos or a mere $2.56 AUD (take that medicare). It wasn't a shoddy checkup either, he thoroughly checked everything, weighed me, measured my height, explained what all the meds he was prescribing me were for, best doctors appointment ever. I was also able to get all the medications for about $22 AUD, so that was a bonus too. So due to this I stayed in bed and got better rather than go to the Six Flags. I stayed in a 5 star hotel for under $100 aussie a night and used the metro public transit system for 37cents a ride. Definitely going back on a South American trip that will include Brazil for Carnival, Machu Pichu and other various South American destinations. The few pics I took were of the crumbling infrastructure, the food I got from room service for under $12 (I know I went overboard with the amount I ordered, as I hadn't had much to eat since flying in but whats the saying? Feed a cold, starve a fever?) once I felt a bit better and statues (one of many passengers carrying them) of baby Jesus being carried on the plane to Mexico? Lastly I didn't eat any street food but not only is it cooked on the street, its prepared there too, this is a pic of a bloke with a bucket of marinated meat making up a big kebab skewer ready to be put over a charcoal fire, piece by piece on the side of the street, unsanitary much?
