Chicago 2nd visit

Hi all

Not much to report from this visit, as I stuffed up my timing. When booking this trip I used last years opening hours for Six flags Great America, which is located near Chicago and that said it was open this weekend in 2016. However they changed that calendar this year and opening weekend is a week away, so i just stayed in my hostel dorm bunk bed and caught up on my TV shows instead of being whizzed around the sky by multi-million dollar pieces of machinery. The hostel is one of the best that I have stayed in, it's really clean, got everything you need and surrounded by the best take away stores (loving Panda Express Chinese). The only downside is the elevated train tracks running beside it caused it to be a bit noisy at times, but nothing earplugs didn't fix.

When I did venture out I found the side walks in Chicago are gorgeously landscaped with beautiful displays of flowers. I went out to see the Smurfs at the movies and recommend it to my niece and nephew. I was going to go and get some of Chicago's famous deep dish pizza but it looked too gooey for my taste, give me New York's thin crust pizza any day. Instead I found an Irish pub serving unlimited fish and chips for $15, so I had three platefuls of some very nice fish with peas and chips, beautiful. I also found some funny things in the stores, one was in CVS; isn't crayola introducing their clientele into the inner workings of police fingerprinting at a young age? Also spotted in a dollar tree store (I'll give you one guess how much everything is priced at) was a test that I would probably pay more for than what dollar tree was asking, but that's just me. America may have a massive homeless problem and gun issues out the wazoo, but they do know how to make a nice train station, checkout Chicago's Union Station. Puts Brisbane Central Station to shame. Staying warm

Talk soon
